I lived in Denver for several years and the TC is one of the best bookstores in the country! The *best* author signings would spring up there!

You've never read Anne of Green Gables? Oh, it's one of my all-time favorites. Tattered Cover would be a must for me too. I listen faithfully to the Authors on Tour -- Live! podcast, recordings of author talks and readings at the Tattered Cover.

My husband and I were in Denver for New Years (we decided to stay over a couple nights because the weather wasn’t great), which was in the middle of our road trip honeymoon. A coworker of my mom’s moved to Denver a few years ago and raved about the store, told me I had to go, so while we were in Denver we did. It’s a lovely store; we had a lot of fun looking around. I was less than thrilled by the coffeeshop, manned by a couple of teens who clearly would’ve rather been somewhere else… but we weren’t there for coffee.

If you go, check out the music store next door, too–my husband was more impressed by that. (The bookstore had a highbrow quality to it that I enjoyed more than he did, I think.)
