It took me less than 4 days to read this book which I enjoyed from cover to cover-- I have suggested it to my local Book Club-I have many very good friends who are Mormon's and have sung in their choir although I am a Catholic. However my curiousity is more that that because in 1830 one of my ancestors who was a shipping magnate ,left our province and sold his business and travelled to Utah with the wagon Train and today is buried in Utah along with his wife. Several of his children however are buried in NB and one of his sons was left behind when the Russell's travelled to Utah. In the last 20 years I have made contact with relatives living in Utah but they do not profess to being of the LDS faith. So you see why I was so interested and so enjoyed the read. Thank You -J.Ryan

I haven't read the book yet, but I probably will as soon as I can get finished with my Cybils reading. However, in light of his research into polygamous groups, I'd like to know what Mr. Ebershoff thinks about the recent events in Texas when a whole group of children were taken from their FLDS parents and placed in the custody of CPS?
