Kathy – practical is a great description! It’s not over the top, but it’s not too simple. The recipes are real (*not* “take a can of this, a can of that and mix it with a bag of crushed tortillas chips … ugh!), but not wacky detailed a la Martha Stewart.

Shana – entertaining is much more of a concept than a reality for us these days. I’m comfortable having friends and family over, as they know the kids/circus and can “go with the flow”, and I can put together a nice dinner or other event with this type of guest.

I still think I’d be a little more on edge with a group I don’t know as well. Maybe another glass of wine before the doorbell rings

My husband says I’m very entertaining, but that’s another story!

I love reading about entertaining, dinner parties, place settings, etc. I grew up w/ a mom who entertained frequently and still does. Not sure why it didn’t rub off on my sister and I. I love to think about doing it, read about it, etc. I just never end up doing it.

What about you, Dawn? Kathy? I know you cook a lot – do you entertain too?
