I look at my calendar each week before I write this post … there aren’t many bookish events planned for me this week …
Monday 11/24 – Today we have both the “Harvest Festival and Feast” at LM4′s preschool and the “Reader’s Celebration” in LW6′s First Grade class. You guessed it, both start at 9:00. J is in meetings all day and can’t attend either, so I’ll put on my magical cloning-mom cloak, leave one early, get to one late, smile the whole time, and take lots of pictures!
I hope to have a few reviews posted early in the week – I finished Who By Fire and When Wanderers Cease to Roam in the past few days.
Tuesday 11/25 – Tuesday Thingers and Teaser Tuesdays, come see a snippet of what I’m reading now.
Wednesday 11/26 – Brooke from The Bluestocking Guide has this week’s Spotlight on Bookstores, about a great mystery bookstore called Whodunit!
Thursday 11/27 – Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who will be sharing in one of my favorite holidays today! Whether you’re looking for one more recipe for the Thanksgiving table, or you just want to wow your in-laws the next time they’re over for Sunday dinner, read the Comments for the BEST EVER CRANBERRY RELISH RECIPE (thanks to my sister-in-law, or “my other sister,” as I call her!). Really, this is yummy, chunky, and the perfect combination of sweet and tart.
Friday 11/28 – I am NOT going Christmas shopping today!
Saturday 11/29 - … or today!
Sunday 11/30 – If you’re participating in my LT Author Challenge, today is the last day to post a review. I’ll tally the entries and draw the giftcard winner, to be announced tomorrow.

CRANBERRY RELISH
2 bags cranberries
3/4 cup orange juice
rind from one orange, grated
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cinnamon stick
2 whole cloves
2 bosc pears, peeled and diced
3 tart apples (Cortland or Empire), peeled and diced
1 1/2 cups golden raisins
Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
Cook over medium heat and bring to a boil.
Simmer 25 minutes, stirring often.
Let cool. (although we tend to taste it while it’s still warm!)
(The cinnamon stick is easy to find and fish out; the two whole cloves are a bit trickier … watch out for them!)
I love Thanksgiving, too! Hope yours is a good one.
I got all the stuff to make the relish. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Here’s my week ahead post:

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday
I can’t wait!!
Have fun with the LT Author Challenge. If I wasn’t already signed up for so many, I would join in too.
Mmmmm, that cranberry relish sounds completely yummy.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, too, Dawn!
And I will be shopping tomorrow! Just a little though. And very early.
Kathy, Ti, J.Kaye, Marie and Shana – thanks for stoppping by, and for your Thanksgiving wishes. We are FULL of a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and are planning just a little shopping for tomorrow; LW12 wants to go see Twilight. I hope everyone had a great week and a nice day with family today.
I’m afraid I dropped the ball on my LT Author Challenge. I do have reviews up of two LT authors (Dave Boling and Sara Zarr), but since I reviewed both of them before I learned of the challenge I don’t feel like I can count that. To my credit: I spent way too much time staring at the list of LT authors, looking for familiar names. Cancelling out that credit: I didn’t even get the oh-so-cute picture up. Challenges=not my forte.
Ali – no worries! I read only 2 of the books I intended to (good intentions, and all that!) … that button that Daniel made is adorable, isn’t it?!
