My LT Author Challenge ended last Sunday, and the results are in!
We had fewer participants than I had hoped, only 4 including myself
But, we still had fun
Lenore at Presenting Lenore read and reviewed Guernica and Paper Towns.
Sandra at Fresh Ink Books read and reviewed In Hovering Flight, Months and Seasons , Midwife of the Blue Ridge, and Guernica.
Avis at She Reads and Reads read and reviewed The 19th Wife and Love Walked In.
I read and reviewed Guernica and In Hovering Flight.
I gave each participant one entry for each book, with a bonus of five entries to Lenore, as the promised “thank you” for Daniel’s adorable logo. I loaded all the entries into random.org and (drum roll, please), it came up with Sandra’s name for the winner of the $20 book store gift card! Congratulations, Sandra! Please contact me with you mailing address and bookstore choice (amazon, Barnes & Noble or IndieBound).
Thanks for playing, everyone! And for those who didn’t play along … what can I do to entice you next time? I’m thinking of running this again in the spring.

Congratulations, Sandra! Maybe I’ll do this one next time around.
Holy cats, what a nice surprise! I actually read Mudbound and Tomato Girl too but was too sick to write up the reviews. Both fantastically good books by the way. I was surprised how many LT authors have written really good books. I’ll send you my address by email. Thank you so much. This made my day.
YAY Sandra! As for what you can do… you can convince more authors to join LT
Dawn, I’d love to join in this challenge next time. I need to check out the authors on LT. I’m thinking about changing *what* I read and review on my blog next year, after I get through the review copies I currently have. I plan to join in more challenges in 2009 – I only did one this year – and I want to pick ones that will dovetail with my intended reading.
Kathy – I’m thinking of running it April – June, get your list ready
Sandra – I read (and enjoyed, but haven’t yet reviewed) *Tomato Girl*, too. I hope you’re feeling all better, and will enjoy spending that gift card!
Lenore- there were many on my list that I didn’t get to read this fall; I’ll work on them in the spring.
Shana – I need to overhaul my booklist, too!
Congrats to Sandra! This was a fun challenge (I also read another book but didn’t get around to reviewing it in time) and I’d love to do it again next year. I’m not sure what to suggest to entice other folks to join…
I completely forgot you were offering a prize, I’d never won one for finishing a challenge. With the gift certificate I have purchased a copy of Walter Benjamin’s Grave, a collection of essays that I’ve wanted for over a year now. My library would not spring for it, their budget keeps them from investing in essays and literary criticism much of the time. Harrrumph I say. So thank you Dawn, I will cherish this copy.
avisannschild – I’d love to have you join us again; I need to decide when I’ll run it in 2009
Sandra – you are very welcome! I’m so glad you were able to get a book that you couldn’t get locally. Enjoy!
Dawn, I just saw your comment on my blog about turning this into a year-long challenge, and I say go for it! Count me in!
