Their cover art is amazing, I must agree! I really liked this book, too, and I agree that it could've been marketed as a novel in stories. I've added your review link to my review here. I didn’t care for this book, but I recently loved The School of Essential Ingredients, which is a novel told in ‘linked’ stories.

Amy – I’ll pop over and read your review now!

Kathy – if you’re not a fan of short stories, the structure might be off-putting. I had a “heads up” from reading your review.

Shana – one of these days I’m going to put one of my family stories into the written word! A good challenge to myself.

Serena – I’m planning to interview John … I’ll ask him your favorite question about his writing space.

Michele – yes, I know we’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but … this one grabs you! And it is a great reflection of the theme of the book.

Dar – the cover reminds me of that story of a butterfly flapping its wings in the amazon, and the effect it has on a hurricane on the other side of the world (I’m greatly paraphrasing here!)

Lovely review! I’m a big fan of cover art, too. There are some books, I admit, that I buy and read simply because I think the cover is beautiful.

Great review. Anna enjoyed this one as well. I think it speaks volumes about Addiego’s style that he can pull of stand alone stories in a novel format. I love those books.

Dawn, as I’ve told you before, I COMPLETELY agree about the Unbridled cover art. LOVE it.

As far as this book, I think I would like it because I like family saga type stories and I also love reading about the immigrant experience. I think before reading it, I’d read both your review and Kathy’s just to be sure I was prepared for the structure of the book.
