I've now finished reading The Story of Forgetting**** by Stefan Merrill Block, Into the Beautiful North**** by Luis Alberto, and
Conceit***** by Mary Novik. All are very enjoyable. My thoughts on Conceit are here:

http://freshinkbooks.blogspot.com/2009/08/show-me-5-saturday.html

This is a terrifically good historical fiction by a Canadian author.
I will be writing reviews of the others when my health is up to it.
Take care.

I've completed reading Belong to Me by Marisa de los Santos. That's my sixth book for the challenge. It's very good, I recommend it. I participated in the author interview by Book Club Girl on Blog Talk Radio which is available for anyone to listen to. I want to read her other novel now, Love Walked In. My LT challenge page is here:

Dawn, I'm sorry I haven't let you know that I have been doing this challenge! I've read and reviewed three books for it now:

Love and Other Natural Disasters by Holly Shumas
Crossed Wires by Rosy Thornton
Last Night in Montreal by Emily St. John Mandel

I also just finished reading Belong to Me, so I'll let you know when I review it. Are you planning on putting up a list with links of participants' reviews?

I've completed reading The Brightest Moon of the Century**** by Christopher Meeks and Last Night in Montreal**** by Emily St. John Mandel. I recommend them, though I'm not up to writing a full review at the present time. That's 5 books read for this year's challenge so far.
I have also acquired copies of Into the Beautiful North by Luis Alberto Urrea, Belong to Me by Marisa De Los Santos, and Houston, We Have a Problema by Gwendolyn Zepeda. The number of good books by LT Authors is increasing rapidly. A lot more choices than last year, remember?
I hope your health has been better than mine this year. Take care.

I've just dicovered another LT author who's book I read and reviewed.
It was in 2008, he wasn't an LT author at the time but for anyone interested here's my review of Quintet by Douglas Arthur Brown:

Thanks.

Just an update. I have read Mudbound***** by Hillary Jordan. It has been given the Bellwhether Prize, which was create by Barbara Kingsolver. Great book. And I have read The Broken Book***+ by Susan Johnson, an Australian writer who is an LT member. It was on the longlists for The Miles Franklin Award and one other award I believe. It was a good enough story but I did not find anything really outstanding about it, sorry to say. I have started Christopher Meeks novel and will be writing a full review for that one soon.
I wanted to read your review of it, and Tomato Girl but you seem to have left out the links in your previous comment. Oh well, I'll find them.
I do hope people haven't forgotten about this challenge. I look forward to an update and a list of participants when you have time-unless I've missed it somehow. Take care.
