Hachette Audio has offered an amazing giveaway and has invited She is Too Fond of Books to be part of it (lucky me! and you!). Hachette will give audiobooks of Josh Bazell’s Beat the Reaper to three winners who comment on this post (details at the bottom of post).
This just-published book by a debut novelist is getting a lot of great buzz; here’s the publisher’s synopsis:
Meet Peter Brown, a young Manhattan emergency room doctor with an unusual past that is just about to catch up with him. His morning begins with the quick disarming of a would-be mugger, followed by a steamy elevator encounter with a sexy young pharmaceutical rep, topped off by a visit with a new patient – and from there Peter’s day is going to get a whole lot worse and a whole lot weirder. Because that patient knows Peter from his other life, when he had a different name and a very different job. The only reason he’s a doctor now is thanks to the Witness Protection Program-and even they can’t protect him from the long reach of the New Jersey mob. Now he’s got to do whatever it takes to keep his patient alive so he can buy some time…and beat the reaper.
Manhattan … Witness Protection Program … “steamy elevator encounter” … Beat the Reaper has a great setting, an action-packed thriller and a bit of a romantic component. Looks like a great combination to me!
To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment listing the title of another thriller you’ve enjoyed. Enter by midnight EST on Friday January 23. I’ll use random.org to select three winners and post their names on January 24. Contest is open to US and Canadian addresses only; no P.O. Boxes, please.

I love novels with doctors in them. I thought Gregg Hurwitz “Do No Harm”, as well as his other 6 books, was pretty darn thrilling. Thanks for entering me.
I just finished Patricia Cornwell’s latest, “Scarpetta”–loved it!
A Room With Dark Mirrors by Velda Johnston— more suspense than thriller, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Steven King’s Desperation
Thanks a Bunch!
London Bridges by James Patterson — understandable an older one, but one I recently heard.
I LOVE all James Patterson. My favorite is Cradle and All!

I would love to win this audiobook. Thank you for the giveaway. The last thriller novel I read and enjoyed is Killing Spree by Kevin O’Brien.
I would love to win this for my mother, who is suffering from Alzheimers and can’t read anymore. This would surely entertain her for a while; she would be very happy to receive this! (me too as I would for sure listen to it while I was doing something around the house)
Thanks so much!
