A book giveaway winner, a birthday boy, and a rocket scientist walk into a bar …

… sorry, I don’t have a complete joke to share, but I’m willing to take suggestions …  I do have an (odd) rambling connection to make …

I drew the name of the winner of Notes on Democracy, which was generously supplied by Lisa Roe, the Online Publicist.  There were eleven entrants for the giveaway, and random.org selected #11, Hermie’s Mom … congratulations!

Now, all those elevens are an odd coincidence, because today is our elder son’s birthday!  Yes, LM10 (Little Man, age 10 … one of my nods to Louisa May Alcott here at She is Too Fond of Books) is now LM11.  I’ve seen great birthday tributes to family members on other blogs, but I have to complete a full cycle of the kids’ birthdays before I can start that (you know how they keep track … it wouldn’t be fair!).  Happy Birthday, LM11!!

Last night we were talking about birthdays and commenting how quickly the kids are growing up (it may sound trite, but it’s true!); this year they will be 13, 11, 7 and 5.  J remarked, “well, this is the only year that all four kids will turn prime numbers.”  Yes, folks, I married a rocket scientist (seriously, with a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering, J was working at GE Aircraft Engines when we started dating, but he’s got both feet on the ground now).  Do you see what I’m up against?!?

So, I think I have the beginning of a great joke in the title of this post, can you help me finish it?
