We got this postcard in the mail from AIG. Yes, that AIG.
- What are they thinking?!
- Who would respond to this solicitation at this point?
- Who do they think I am? Clearly I’m on the wrong mailing list!
- How much bailout money was spent on this “targeted” mailing?!
My postcard would read:
- 5 bedrooms
- 4 kids
- 3 summer camp payments
- 2 tired 2 do 2 much these days
- Just 1 mortgage, ’cause we know our limits
We get a lot of “junk” mail, and sometimes it’s entertaining. This one takes the cake, though! What do you think?!

that’s hysterical.
Too funny!
It really takes the cake! Now I’m trying to figure out my postcard.
OMG! Thanks for the laugh … that is too funny.
I love at the bottom it says “We Know Risk”
Puh-LEEZE!
The last line is a hoot. What suit and tie authorized this mailing? Ridiculous.
I don’t know anyone who would qualify for what they are offering!
Hilarious. However, as someone who writes about this all the time…AIG’s insurance units are the only ones keeping the company afloat and are unrelated to the subprime mess…AIG’s holding company oversees the securities lending and trading arms and those are the ones that got into trouble. The AIG insurance unit is the unit that has reserves and has been stable since forever due to state reserve laws that make sure insurers have the money they are supposed to to cover claims costs.
However, this add looks like that AIG is trying to capture the money from those executives that are getting bonuses at other companies even though they are in the toilet with the economy. Funny how the business mind works.
Ok, enough babbling from me.
Wow, that’s hilarious!
This is hilarious. I definitely see a name change in AIG’s future.
I love your rewrite! I am working on a website for a financial client now and they refuse to write anything about the crisis… kind of sad really.
Cannot really compete with that one, I´m afraid, but when I was 13 and my first pay check for babysitting was put in my bank account, the bank also sent me an advertisement for early retirement
