*** Winners were drawn this morning, and the post is now closed to entries. If your name is on this list, please send me your US/Canada mailing address by noon on Tuesday July 21:

    * 19 - Suncassie - I have never been to Maine but pictures of it conjure up romantic images. Have wanted to visit since I bought some art work by Richard Herd of a lighthouse in Maine. Also my daughter is called Lillie and I am attracted to all books with the name in it.
    * 23 - Stephanie - Once in Maine I took this really great photograph of Pemoquid Point lighthouse and have it sitting in my drawer waiting to get it framed - I really must do that sometime soon!!
    * 16 - Jenny - I have never been to Maine but when I think of Maine I think of the ocean communities.
    * 13 - Michele - I have never been to Maine, but I am excited about a trip there in the fall. I want to see the rocky beaches, the ocean and explore Portland. I like the wild beauty of Maine.
    * 35 - Elizabeth Neas - I have a blog friend in Maine - the photo’s that she posts are so beautiful. Please count me in Thanks.

I have never been to Maine. I think what a beautiful place it would be and I hear they have great antique stores there. I would love to go there and eat a seafood dinner and walk on the shores. thanks!

Maine is summer to me. I spent part of nearly every summer of my life in Maine until I married. I miss it terribly. It's blueberries, the Fourth of July parade in Freeport with the big LLBean boot float, lobster bakes, miniature golf at Rummel's in Waterville, the cliff walk in Prout's Neck, sailing on Casco Bay and taking the mail boat run on a sunny day, maybe in the afternoon with music and racing up the dock to grab an ice cream cone at the turnaround point, shopping at the outlets in Freeport, lobster rolls at McDonalds, being old enough to take the boat out alone and fish, catching the biggest fish of the week -- until the last 5 minutes, getting all dressed up to go to theatre at Skowhegan....it's a wonderful melange of memories and feelings that has made me who I am.

I just finished "Off Season"... it was Siddons' best yet. I've never been to Maine, but my husband used to go when he was a kid on family vacations. I wound love to go there some day.

I've been through Maine but didn't really stay for any length of time. The thing that would symbolize Maine for me is the beautiful coastline in Bar Harbor & the ferry that takes you over to Nova Scotia.
