Thomas N. DeWolf shared a guest post yesterday, in which he spoke of “no time like the present” for meaningful conversations about diversity, tolerance, and justice in the U.S.
DeWolf has recently published Inheriting the Trade. This is a memoir about his experiences during the making of a documentary film, Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North, in which he and nine other (white) family members journeying into their slave-trading heritage, and issued a call for reconciliation.
Today I am pleased to share his offer of a free MP3 audio of his book. To enter the random drawing, simply leave a comment below indicating your interest. Enter by midnight on Saturday, September 19. I would be very interested in winning this book. I just finished “Slavery By Another Name,” another book about the consequences of slavery for years beyond the Civil War and the individuals and companies that were involved. I think this is a very important topic that must continue to be brought to the attention of current generations.
I would love to be entered in your draw. Thanks.

I would love this book, but I’m not an MP3 audio type of person. But I’ll be looking for his book!
Please enter me in this one!
I am a Cultural History Interpreter and this would be such a great resource for me! I am going to see the film “Traces of the Trade” tonight. What a fascinating, engrossing story. It helps to have this information when I discuss slavery and abolition with schoolchildren who I do programs for.
I am definitely interested in winning this.
