This 2009 challenge goes in the category of “what was I thinking!??”
I signed up for two levels, A-Z authors and titles (a total of 52 books), and A-Z places (26 books, overlap allowed with the author/title level).
How did I do? You can click here to see the books I read that fit the challenge parameters. Here’s a summary:
- A-Z authors: 21 of 26
- A-Z titles: 22 of 26
- A-Z places: 16 of 26
I didn’t finish any of the challenge categories.
How do I feel about it? I’m OK with it! About a month ago I looked at my TBR library and selected books that would fit for authors and titles, but I had other books that became a priority. I had pretty much given up on places by then; we have a fun children’s picture book called Double Trouble in Walla-Walla, when I considered that for the places category I knew that it was time to abandon the challenge.
Did you sign up for the A-Z Challenge? Did you make it through the alphabet?

That was a huge committment; I think you did well considering the number of books that meant you had to read!
I’m impressed that you even attempted this challenge! I think you did a great job!
I can’t believe you tried all three types!!! YIKES! I did complete A to Z for Titles and this year I’m trying authors.
Lisa, Kathy, and Jenners – I believe I would have completed it if I had stuck to either titles OR authors (and left countries out of it!). Oh well, no harm in trying
