Carol, what a delightful message. I’m tickled that you enjoyed CeCee’s story and have shared it with your purple-velvet-sofa girlfriends as well as your book club! Thank you. I loved writing CeeCee’s story and developing the characters so much that I was sad when I typed THE END.

I picked up Saving Cee Cee Honeycutt drawn in by the color on the cover and the fact that synopsis on the back cover said it would be hilarious and heartbreaking…….well that is a dose of life I suspected so I bought the book and devoured the words. My favorite lines are those on pages 111 and 112…….”As I watched it develop, I wondered if I’d ever be so lucky to have a girlfriend I’d grow old with, a girlfriend who knew my secrets, my fears, my hopes –and loved me anyway. A purple -velvet-sofa kind of girlfriend.”
I fell in love with this book when I read that…..raced out and bought 8 copies and sent them to my “purple-velvet-sofa kind of girlfriends.”
I enjoyed this as a celebration of life, forgiveness and the power of girlfriends without whom life would be so dull!
Many scenes made me laugh out loud and I could easily see Shirley McClaine playing Thelma! I truly enjoyed your book so much that I chose it as my book club selection and we are discussing it here at my home this Thursday!
Congrats on having the courage to change your track in life and in doing so provide much enjoyment to others as you fulfilled your dreams.

diane – me, too! Can you imagine the pressure, though, out on tour promoting a wonderful review, and the fans clamoring “write more!”

Lisa – I’m pleased that Beth had time for the interview during this busy time.

zibilee – the characters are wonderful – not at all cookie cutter.

I received a copy of this book through the LibraryThing.com Early Reviewers program a couple of months back. I’ve been looking forward to reading it, but haven’t gotten to it yet. This lovely interview has inspired me to bump it up my to-read list. Thanks so much for sharing!

It’s so nice to hear that this book has such strong female leads. So many of the books I’ve been reading lately don’t. They are either skittish and whiny, or calculating and cold. I am so looking forward to this book! Great interview! She sounds like a wonderful person.
