Introducing *Spotlight on NYC Bookstores*

Rumor has it that a lot of book-loving people are going to descend on New York toward the end of May!

The literary trifecta of Book Expo America, Book Blogger Con, and New York Book Week will have authors, booksellers, librarians, bloggers, reviewers, and readers of all types taking a juicy bite of the Big Apple.

I started a list of bookstores I’d like to visit when I’m in the City, then I realized that others would likely be making similar pilgrimages.  To make it easier to plan and access these stores, I’ve created an evolving directory of bookstores in the five boroughs of New York … Spotlight on NYC Bookstores.

Many thanks to Beth F of Beth Fish Reads for letting me bounce ideas off her, and to Jill at Fizzy Thoughts for the graphics in the header and button.  Feel free to grab the logo and link back to the Spotlight on NYC Bookstores blog.  The more people who use the directory, the more bookstores will be visited … and the happier our NYC booksellers will be!

Please do help spread the word!  I’ve been adding listings, but know it will be better (faster, easier, more accurate), if bookstores submit info to me, rather than me trolling the internet to find a succinct description or the most efficient directions to the store.  There’s a page titled “Add my bookstore (please!)” with a handy form to submit.

The directory lists basic info – name, niche/description, address, contact info, hours of operation, and directions via public transportion.  There are no advertising or affiliate links on the site; it’s goal is simply (or grandly) to connect readers with the many bookstores in New York City.

Since this is an evolving directory, I’m eager to add features that might be useful – drop a note below if you have a suggestion!
