Kitchen Haiku is not a new as-seen-on-late-night-tv product; it’s something I cooked up (ha!) in honor of National Poetry Month. Silly, but fun and satisfying … just the way I like my weekends:
Weekend Cooking post
National Poetry Month
My Kitchen Haiku
Marvels of plastic:
Tupperware seals in freshness;
Saran Wrap tangles.
Microwave oven.
Automatic dishwasher.
Fast food. Quick clean up.
My father’s theory:
Sharpen kitchen cutlery;
dull knives are hazards.
Your Kitchen Haiku:
five-seven-five syllables.

Care to share a kitchen haiku of your own?

You are entirely too cute! Very fun!
Lift corner and vent
That’s the only way I can
More than that is hard
Thank you for playing
You have cheered me up today
Now I must go eat
Very creative
Julie – last-minute posts do come together (sometimes!)
rhapsody – fab imagery w/”lift cover and vent” !!
Beth F – and are you eating those yummy brownies already?!
JoAnn – the phrasing may be clunky, but I got the pattern of syllables right. They were fun to write.
I will be back with a haiku as soon as my tea kicks in.
Fun celebration
For poetry month and food.
You are too darn smart.
My brain’s not in gear, so I’m not sure that’s right, but it’s the best I can do right now.
I came back to say
Kathy got it oh so right
This is way too fun
Food is lots of fun
Making is good eating best
it all tastes so good
I love the kitchen
It is so warm and sunny
Wish I was a cook
That’s awesome, Dawn! Love it!
Love these! It’s a very cute idea!
Kathy, Beth F, Heather, Darla – yay! Thanks for adding your Kitchen Haikus!
caite, Marie, zibilee – thanks; we all had fun with them. Well, I did; I suppose I shouldn’t speak for anyone else
I love this haiku:
“Marvels of plastic:
Tupperware seals in freshness;
Saran Wrap tangles.”
Please feel free to link up to the National Poetry Month Blog post! Love it.
Very creative–I’m going to find myself trying to make up haikus as I cook supper tonight!
I love to bake treats
Oh how I miss all my carbs
Can you say, Game On!?
