Mark your calendars for Book Blogger Appreciation Week!

Less than three months away … September 13 – 17 marks the 3rd annual Book Blogger Appreciation Week!

BBAW was founded in 2008 by My Friend Amy, and is

a week long festival celebrating the community of book bloggers and their contribution to preserving a culture of literacy through book reviews and recommendations, reading reflections, and general bookish chat.  BBAW also includes an awards component. 

Anyone who identifies his- or herself as a book blogger is encouraged to register for the event, subscribe to updates on the BBAW blog, and follow BBAW on twitter.

You can show your support of Book Blogger Appreciation Week and book bloggers by spreading the word via blog posts and twitter, adding a BBAW button to your sidebar, and otherwise encouraging other book bloggers to get involved.

Oh, and did I mention that we’re still looking for volunteers?!  Specifically, if you consider yourself to be a community-oriented kidlit, speculative fiction, or romance blogger, and have a few hours a week you can give to those areas of the BBAW newsletter, please send us an email.

Those of us on the Executive Board of BBAW are ineligible for awards, and will strive to make this celebration of book bloggers an event that just keeps getting better!  Let us know if you have any questions or comments (I may not know the answers, but I’ll track them down!).
