Have you marked your calendars for Friday, July 30? That evening, beginning at 8:30 pm EST, Heather at Capricious Reader and I will host a “viewalong” of this 1962 classic film (Sigh. Gregory Peck. Sigh.). We’ll be live-tweeting our reactions to the movie, and hope you’ll join us! Follow Heather with @capriciousReadr, and I’m @tooFondOfBooks; we’ll use the hashtag #tkam to track the conversation.
I’m hoping that many of you can reserve the movie via your library, Netflix, or other rental option (or, maybe you have it in your home video library?!). In anticipation of the July 30 “viewalong”, I’ve purchased a DVD for myself, and one for YOU. Well, for one one you, anyway.
To be entered into the giveaway, just leave a comment below, letting me know whether or not you’ve previously viewed the film. Giveaway will be open until midnight EST on Saturday, July 17; I’ll select the winner in a random draw, and post the name here on July 18. Giveaway is open worldwide (this is a widescreen DVD, purchased in the US; please consider if you have the proper equipment for viewing!).
Update 7/18/10: The winner has been selected; this post is now closed to Comments.

I have seen it, but not since 7th grade (and I’m not going to tell you how long ago that was…)!
Read the book but have never viewed the film; I’d love to win.

I saw it in 10th grade at school, but I also bought a VHS copy in college. I love this movie and I’d really be thrilled to win the DVD!
