Did you read the news that Julie Klam’s forthcoming memoir, Love at First Bark (Riverhead, October 2011), has been named a Top
Ten Memoir of Fall by Publisher’s Weekly?!
I (not a dog person!) loved Klam’s You Had Me at Woof, and am looking forward to reading Love at First Bark.
Love at First Bark: How Saving a Dog Can Sometimes Help You Save Yourself focuses “on dog rescue, and its healing power not only for the dogs who are cared for and able to find good homes, but also for the people who bond with these animals.”
In honor of the occasion, I’m rolling out one of the vanity plate pics I’ve collected.
And, Julie, if this earns us any brownie points toward having an event for Love at First Bark at the Concord Bookshop, double woof!

Oh, that dog looks like my dearly departed Meggie. The story sounds inspirational, but I almost tear up at the cover. I’m hopeless.
I bought my husband her first book for Christmas this year, and he loved it. I can’t wait till I get the chance to read it too. I am glad that she is coming out with another, and I bet it will be the perfect gift for you know who! Thanks for sharing this with us, Dawn!
I LOVE dogs and am big on people rescuing instead of going through breeders but I can’t read any books about dogs, they make me cry even if they are inspirational.
I love dogs, especially mine. This is a book I’d love to get for my cousin since she loves dog rescue stories and often volunteers with her local ASPCA and kennels. All of her dogs have been rescues.
Oh, fun! I AM a dog person and I think this looks fabulous.
