In my review of Lynne Griffin’s Sea Escape, I said:
“Griffin tackles several issues in this gem of women’s fiction – women’s relationships to their mothers, husbands, and children; that elusive balance which so many search for; family secrets that come between us; and the way events halfway around the world can affect us in our seemingly impervious suburban bubbles. The various threads of the novel form an entertaining and thought-provoking read.”
The publisher is offering a copy of Sea Escape to one lucky reader of She Is Too Fond of
Books! But wait, there’s more! No, not Ginsu Knives, but a paperback edition of Griffin’s previous novel, Life Without Summer. I haven’t yet read Life Without Summer, but I’m looking forward to curling up with it.

I would read Life Without Summer first, because it was written first.
I would read a Life without Summer first. It sounds like it would be a lighter read than Sea Escape. It would be neat to read Sea Escape shortly after and see if the author’s writing was more developed, complex, otherwise, or if the storyline was just ‘deeper.’
well – both look good, but I’d probably read Life without Summer first as she wrote it first. Thanks for hosting! -beth

I’d read Sea Escape first…sounds like quite the page turner–my favorite! (Plus, I live in Ohio…so nowhere close to the sea…so it would lend an ‘escape’ to me this summer! I’d live vicariously through the characters
)
I’d read Life without Summer as my first book. My reason is because I like reading magazines rather than books and this past year I lost my mother . I took care of her through her illness and while doing so lost my friends(they didn’t understand family 1st). Now with her gone my life is empty so I told myself to start doing new and different things and reading being one of them. So Life in the title is the start of my summer.
I would like to read Life Without Summer because I really like the title!

I love both book. I would read Sea Escape. Like so many people I love the ocean. I also love any types of thread for sewing, embroidering, quilting or just patching a hole. The colors of threads are so pretty. I like the book because it’s about achieving balance and about secrets in the family.
Wonderful giveaway idea! I would read Sea Escape first. I have read so many wonderful reviews of that book and I’m really intrigued by it.
