Our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) season began about 3 weeks ago. I learned last year that the first several weeks are “green heavy,” with all kinds of fresh, leafy greens (arugula, red lettuce, green lettuce, baby lettuce, Swiss chard), and that I’d have to eat a lot of salads and share with friends, or I’d [...] We had an interesting summer, as far as zucchini goes! The six-pack my son and I planted in our raised bed grew so fast and furious that we pulled them out and transplanted them elsewhere in the flower gardens. There they grew and flowered … but produced no fruit! Perhaps the same team of chipmunks [...] |
